CSA Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up for a Traditional CSA?
You can sign up for a Traditional CSA by registering an account on our website. Once you are registered, you can view and choose from our various subscription options for the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. We have Vegetable CSA subscriptions available as well as optional Add-On subscriptions for all three seasons.
When does the 2026 CSA begin?
Our CSA runs for 35 weeks total throughout the year for three seasons. Each season has its own duration, so you can choose to sign up for one, two, or all three seasons.
The Spring CSA runs for 5 weeks, beginning the week of April 21st and ending the week of May 20th.
The Summer CSA runs for 24 weeks, beginning the week of May 26th and ending the week of November 6th.
The Fall CSA runs for 6 weeks, beginning the week of November 10th and ending the week of December 17th.
What share types and sizes are available for a Traditional CSA?
We offer two types of shares:
Farmer’s Choice - This share type is available for all three seasons. The items in these shares typically consist of a variety of seasonal vegetables chosen by the farmers. We assemble each share to include items such as cooking/salad greens, herbs, alliums, something starchy, fruits, and snacking vegetables.
Customizable - This share type is only available for our Summer season. The main difference from the Farmer’s Choice share is that you can customize what types of produce you want, so if there’s an item you want more of or want to swap one item for another, you can do so! There is a $4.00 Customizable Fee that is included in the share price, and it will be charged all at once just before the beginning of the season.
For the Spring season, we are offering Small and Medium share sizes. For the Summer and Fall seasons, we are offering Small, Medium, and Large share sizes.
Small shares typically consist of 5-7 items. This size is ideal for individuals or small households that cook at home 1-2 times a week.
Medium shares typically consist of 7-9 items. This size is ideal for individuals or households that cook at home 3-4 times a week.
Large shares typically consist of 9-11 items. This size is ideal for individuals, large households, or vegetarians that cook at home or eat raw vegetables 5-6 times a week.

What is an Add-On share?
An add-on share is an optional subscription that you can purchase along with any Traditional CSA. We partner with multiple local businesses throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania to provide a variety of high quality goods that pair well with any vegetable share.
What types of add-on shares are available?
We are offering coffee, cheese, eggs, fruit, and mushrooms. You can view a full list of these products and their seasonal price plans through the link below:

How often will my CSA be delivered?
We offer two distribution frequencies for all of our vegetable and add-on subscriptions. You can choose to have a Weekly distribution or a Bi-Weekly distribution. If you choose a Bi-Weekly subscription, you will be offered either a Bi-Weekly A or Bi-Weekly B option, depending on which pick up site you choose.
You can view your subscription schedule at any time through your CSA account.
Log into your CSA member account.
In the top right corner, click on the icon labeled “HELLO, YOUR NAME”. An option menu will appear underneath. Click on the section labeled “Subscriptions”.
You will be brought to a page that lists all of your active subscriptions. At the bottom of the page, there will be a calendar. A day that is highlighted in green represents a delivery day. Clicking on a highlighted day will show you which subscriptions you are to receive on this day. Another way to view a subscription’s schedule is by clicking on the specific subscription that you want to see the delivery schedule for. On the right side of the page, there will be a list of all of the delivery days for that season, including weekly and bi-weekly distributions.
Where will my CSA be delivered?
Before you sign up for a CSA, you will need to choose a pick up site to receive it at. We have multiple locations throughout the greater Pittsburgh area as well as our farm in New Bethlehem, if you’re local.
Follow the link below to view the full list of our CSA locations and their respective seasons:
These addresses are approximate, but once you sign up for a CSA, you can view the actual address.
How can I see what is in my CSA share each week?
You will receive a Sneak Peek email the week before your CSA pick up day. This email will explain what types of vegetables to expect in your share for the coming week. If you wish to edit anything in your box, you’ll need to do so during the editing window (begins on Mondays at 12:00 pm and ends on Sundays at 11:59 pm the week prior to pick up). For those that have a Farmer’s Choice CSA, you can edit and substitute any aversions or allergies. For those that have a Customizable CSA, you can edit, add, delete, and/or substitute any vegetables.
On the day of your CSA pick up, you will receive a Newsletter email that outlines produce storage tips, farm news, and recipes that include highlighted vegetables you will receive in your share as ingredients. You will also see what types of add-on shares you will receive that week if you have an add-on share subscription.
What if I have food aversions/allergies?
Whether you sign up for a Farmer’s Choice or Customizable CSA, you can edit any food aversions/allergies from your share. We recommend that you list any in your Subscription Notes when you go to check out. We also appreciate if you email this list as well so we can reference it.
How do I pay for my CSA subscription?
You can pay for a CSA by credit card or by mailing in a check. If you are paying by credit card, please make sure that it is associated with your account and up-to-date. We accept all major credit card brands. If you are paying by check, please make it out to:
Who Cooks for You Farm
383 Mill Seat Run Road
New Bethlehem, PA 16242
On the Memo line, please clarify what the payment is for. Be sure to mail in your check(s) in a timely manner so that we receive them before a payment due date.
What payment plans are available for CSA subscriptions?
We have two payment plans available. The Single Payment plan allows you to pay the full subscription price at once. A benefit to doing this plan is that it allows you to enjoy the season without worrying about making payments. The 4-Part Payment plan allows you to make four payments throughout the season. A benefit to doing this plan is that it is more financially flexible. Of the four payments, the first is due at the time of your subscription sign up. The remaining three payments will be due on the last day of the month for the next three months.
If you need a plan besides what we are offering, such as a Pay by Order plan, please reach out to us and we’d be happy to accommodate.
Where can I find information about my pick up site’s host and location?
Before the start of a season, or if you sign up after the season starts, you will receive a Host Site and Contact Information email that outlines the address of the pick up site as well as your host’s name and contact information. We suggest that you save this information in an easily accessible place. You can also access the site address and pick up times through your account.
Log into your CSA member account.
In the top right corner, click on the icon labeled “HELLO, YOUR NAME”. An option menu will appear underneath. Click on the section labeled “Account Information”.
You will be brought to a page that lists your account information. On the right side of the page, you will see your pick up location with the address and pick up times listed below.
If at any point you need the host contact information again, please be in touch with the farm as soon as possible and we’ll get you that information. Having this information is important in case you are running late to a pick up or need assistance navigating the pick up site.
Can I change the size of my CSA share? Can I change my CSA pick up site?
Yes, you can change your pick up location. You will need to contact us and let us know which location you would like to switch to. Just be aware that changing your pick up location may change your distribution day as well.
If you wish to change your vegetable share size, please contact us. If you choose to downsize your share, you have the option to have any remaining funds credited to your account, or we can refund the difference.
If you choose to upsize your share, any payments made on the previous subscription will be reallocated to the new subscription.
What should I do if I can’t pick up my CSA share?
If you are running late and unable to make it to the site during the pick up times, please be in touch with your host as soon as possible. Our hosts are flexible and may offer to hold your share until you are able to pick it up. If you still can’t pick up your share, please let the host know so they can make sure the contents are not wasted.
What should I do if I need to place a hold on my CSA?
If you know in advance that you can’t pick up your share (Ex: you are going on vacation), you can place a “Vacation Hold” on your subscription. Follow the link below for a tutorial on how to place a vacation hold:
Please note that we do require a five day notice for a hold. If you miss this deadline, be in contact with us as soon as possible so that we can help you with making arrangements.
What if I need to cancel my CSA subscription?
When you purchase a CSA, it’s a commitment. However, we understand that there are situations that can arise in which you need to cancel your CSA. If that’s the case, please submit a request through the Subscriptions page on your account. We will confirm with you that you want the request fulfilled before officially canceling your subscription. You will be refunded for any remaining subscription funds minus a $50.00 cancellation fee within 30 days of cancellation. If you need to cancel before the start of a season, you will receive a full refund.
Can I share my CSA subscription with someone?
Yes, you can share your CSA with others. One person will sign up as the primary member, then you will need to organize payments, order editing, and pick ups with those that you are sharing with. If you would like to include others in email communications about your CSA, please contact us and provide names and email addresses. Also, make sure your account is accessible to those you want to share with.
