CSA Summer Newsletter: October 31st, 2023 (Week 23/23)

Howdy Folks,

Happy Halloween! šŸ‘»This is the last week of the summer CSA!

Thank you for joining us for a taste of 2023 Summer Season!  I know we squeeze a little fall into the summer CSA.  This is cuz we still have a lot of summer veg into the beginning of fall, until about now when itā€™s just fall fare.  We hope that you have enjoyed your seasonal box of veggies.

You will be hearing from us soon with a follow up questionnaire.  We always want to know what you think.  We are thinking of changing up our CSA software next season.  We didn't want to throw too many curve balls at you this season, but times are a changing and we must continue to be contemporary.  We have been working with 4 different software programs for the last 5 years, and itā€™s getting a little crazy for our customers and us, to keep track and manage on so many different systems.  As a certified organic, diversified vegetable farm that sells 90% of our produce directly to the consumer there are not too many software programs that track all the things we do. We are looking into new software that can help us with CSA management, Farmers Markets, Online market and a tad of wholesale.  We are in the midst of demos and interviews with farm software companies to see the new systems available or new modules that we can add to systems we already have in place.

We are not 100% sure that the box packing will look like it did this year.  Nothing is ever certain as a vegetable farmer.  All we know is that each year we learn a lot and usually next year we do it a little better.

This week we are cleaning the office and making Natalie a more permanent desk, as she deserves it!  She has totally taken a big weight of time and organization off of Aerosā€™ back and this has certainly made this season smoother!  If you notice that your emails are being answered more promptly and errors are being managed more seamlessly this is Natalie!  She is a gem!

Got to hand it to Chris, he took the plunge and asked for guidance from an agronomist this year.  He was so happy that he did this!  Itā€™s always so great to be able to talk with folks that have a wealth of information that you are willing to be a sponge to learn from.  This relationship gave Chris a person to talk to versus a book to flip through or websites to scroll through.

Chris and I both got some help to do what we do and have it go smoother and better.  It feels good to ask for help and get so much assistance.  Folks always say,ā€œ You guys work so hard.ā€  Well we try hard, but itā€™s the crew all together, everyone's combined effort, itā€™s a beautiful web here of many folks that are patient and strong willed, the Who Crew are mighty and kind.  Chris and I like to have fun, so we aim at having folks on our team that also want to have fun, while doing all the tasks that make a vegetable farm produce vegetables and get them from seed to mouth.  We hope you got the fun vibe while you picked up or ate your summer season veggies this season. Some of you have been with us for 15 seasons now, and some continuing into the fall season.  Itā€™s been a great ride, with lots of delicious food!  We are very excited to continue to grow with you and for you, Donā€™t forget that you are a part of this mighty Who Crew!  We couldnā€™t do this without your hungry appetite for certified organic produce.  Thank you for your support.

If you arenā€™t joining us for the Fall CSA we will be in touch when our 2024 spring and summer CSA registrations open.  Have a beautiful end to your 2023!  Blessings to you and yours.

Cheers to good health and sweet dreams,
Your Farmers

Chris, Aeros and the Who Crew!
