Summer 2026 Week 7 Newsletter
Howdy Folks,
The garlic was harvested from the field this week. Then the long task of preparing it for curing. We are trying a new way this year. Instead of bunching them in the field and then hanging them from the rafters and walls of our tractor shed, this year the guys trimmed off all the roots and stem, and then they got transferred to bulb crates, where they now sit in a hot room with a dehumidifier and big fan. This is a little more time consuming now at the harvest time, but it’s professional, creating a consistent, warm and dry environment, ideal curing and storage, then less work to prepare for sale. A huge task and feat to have accomplished this week. Yeehaw!!
Cedar is turning 15 this Saturday, on the 4th of July! He’s our not so little anymore farm firecracker! The only patriot quote that comes to mind in this moment of what seems like some of the most environmentally and politically turbulent times, in my lifetime, is from Kennedy’s presidential address, Note I wasn’t even alive yet somehow I know this… “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
Love and Light folks, may the food you eat nourish your body and soul. Ask not what your body can do for you, ask what you can do for your body…
